For Image Contributors
- Once you grant permission, BPoD has the right to digitally reproduce your image(s) on www.bpod.mrc.ac.uk and related social media channels, in perpetuity. If you created the image in question, but do not retain copyright, we will request permission to use the image from the copyright holder.
- You retain copyright of the image in question, although we request you not to grant exclusive license for the image to be published elsewhere. Should you be requested to give up copyright, we would suggest you supply the organization in question with a similar nonidentical image.
- As the copyright owner, you may share your image with any organisation or publication with a less restrictive copyright licence, eg Open Access, without infringing on our rights. If you choose, you may release the image under a copyleft licence, eg Creative Commons, Gnu Free Documentation Licence.
- We retain editorial control of the description of your image. Our team of professional science writers has experience in research and scientific publishing environments. Our priority is that your image is presented accurately and positively, in a manner accessible to non-scientists. In some cases, the writer may choose to liaise with you regarding the representation of your image.
